The route of the project\u2014consisting of a channel and levee in some sections and only a levee in others\u2014is bounded by the railway line; it partially follows the Duvrat channel, continues across the Jerkovac area to the Metkovi\u0107\u2013Vid road, follows the road alignment to the Glibu\u0161a watercourse where it changes direction, and then follows the Glibu\u0161a watercourse to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project covers the section of the system extending to the BiH border, spanning approximately 6.441 km. The remaining section of the defense levee\u2014approximately 2.4 km long\u2014passes through Gabela Polje in the neighboring country; together with the project section, it forms a functional flood defense unit for the low-lying area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Metkovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The levee is constructed from mixed stone material with a grain size of 0\u2013100 mm and ranges in height from 1 to 3.5 m. The elevation of the levee crest is 4.25 m a.s.l.<\/p>\n
